Premium 163 bed student accommodation development close to Worcester University Main Campus and City Centre.

Space Developments have invested, developed and delivered a prestigious new student living development close to Worcester University’s main St John’s campus.

Recognising the shortage of purpose built student beds in the area and the growth in demand for places at Worcester University, the development forms part of Space’s mission to create vibrant communities.

 

The scheme combines the regeneration of one of Worcester City’s largest and most historic listed buildings and a new build residential block to offer a range of premium student accommodation.

The team worked collaboratively with Worcester Council’s Conservation and Planning team to convert the existing Grade II Listed building and sensitively the design the new 5 storey building adjacent.

The scheme offers a mixture of cluster flats and self-contained studios.

The original buildings provides accommodation for 91 students with shared communal areas and services. The new 5 storey Curtler building provides accommodation for 72 students in twelve cluster flats.

 

The accomodtion  is a secure site and the buildings surround a large communal courtyard and access to the communal lounges.  

Tim Edghill, Principal at Space Developments said “We are very excited to have successfully delivered this scheme and to have regenerated a local historic building. The development provides an attractive range of rooms and a social community in which the students can live, work, and enjoy their time in Worcester. 

The redevelopment of this site as student accommodation, given its history is the perfect new chapter,. We wanted to create an inclusive place where the residents feel part of a community and can grow and thrive, making lifelong friends.”
